Local Context
The project aims to support the development of the Bananal Island Region by strengthening social and economic activities of the region’s youth. The project will increase access to information and knowledge tools and to software for computer graphics, it will also promote the adoption and diffusion of knowledge to contribute to the promotion of cultural exchanges. The initiative took place at the Ecologica Institute’s Community and Training Center in the city of Pium, Tocantins, and lasted from March 2011 to March 2012. It had the support from Oi Institute – Novos Brasis Program.
Project Description
Just like the first edition of the project, which took place in 2010, the newest edition had improvement in sustainable resources, training and professionalization in Graphic Designer. Some results: 1 graphical structuring with printer, cutter, computers and designer programs; 9 monitors performing digital inclusion programs; 60 young people trained in digital inclusion with basic and intermediate computer; 28 young people trained in Graphic Designer; 100 duly registered computers , getting free internet signal; 3 presentations of products for the local market and businesses; folder and banner production and printing.
