Importance of RPPNs
RPPNs are conservation areas in private areas, created with the aim of conserving the biological diversity of a region. The creation of a PRNP is a voluntary act of the owner, who decided to constitute a reserve on his property. These protected natural areas established on private land have been constituted as a complementary tool in efforts to protect and conserve natural resources and biodiversity.

Among the incentives and benefits for owners who have an interest in transforming private property into a PRNP include:
• The right of the area preserved;
• Exemption of Tax on Rural Property (ITR);
• Priority in analysis of projects, the National Environment Fund – FNMA;
• Preference in examining applications for the granting of agricultural credit, along with official credit institutions, for projects to be implemented on properties that contain PRNP in their perimeters;
• Opportunities for cooperation with private and public entities in the protection, management and operation of PRNP
