The novelty was introduced in the city of London in April and have already produced great results. The average number of vehicles that polluted the most was 34,000 per day. With the implementation of the ULEZ, 9,400 fewer vehicles pass through central London.
Sadiq Khan, mayor of the city, said that daring actions generate high rewards and added: “our toxic air is an invisible killer responsible for one of our nation’s greatest national health emergencies.”
