Local Context
The project aims to support the development of the Bananal Island Region by strengthening social and economic activities of the region’s youth. The project will increase access to information and knowledge tools and to software for computer graphics, it will also promote the adoption and diffusion of knowledge to contribute to the promotion of cultural exchanges. The initiative took place at the Ecologica Institute’s Community and Training Center in the city of Pium, Tocantins, and lasted from January to December 2010. It had the support from Oi Institute – Novos Brasis Program.
Project Description
The project improved sustainable resources by training young people in Graphic Design. It established a computer lab and a a printing lab, giving the city of Pium access to the internet, benefiting all community members, especially youth. These actions promote communication and information sharing.
