After England, the Irish parliament also issued a state of emergency in the country.
An amendment was included to the parliamentary report, which declared the emergency situation and also put climate issues at the top of the Irish government’s priority, which accompanies the decision of the neighboring England.
Pro-climate activists and parliamentarians celebrated the decision much like Eamon Ryan, leader of Ireland’s Green Party, who called the government’s decision “historic”.
England was the first country in history to declare a climate emergency due to several protests across the country.
