New data from Global Data firm released suggests that climate change has become prominent topic in the most powerful executive boardrooms. The research shows that climate change is now one of the most frequently mentioned themes among the world’s leading CEOs on Twitter.
Its CEO Influencer platform, which captures the Twitter discussions of over 300 global CEOs, found the number of conversations using the term jumped by 200 per cent from the second to the third quarter of 2019.
“Any changes in climate can severely influence various business segments, as it results in the scarcity of resources, invariably making global markets to compete for resources and commodities,” says GlobalData’s Influence Research Head Amandeep Gill. “Therefore, sustainable development goals should be framed to not only support biodiversity and environment but also enhance the economic growth for future resilience, maintenance and productivity.”
The Paris Agreement was one of the top trending topics amongst the influencers, the data shows, particularly in relation to the key roles of countries such as China, India, the US, and Indonesia in implementing the protocols.
